Jane featured our design and pitted it against the Obama “Hope” sticker in an unofficial vote. At last count, we had a commanding lead over the Big O. This was a great thing for us and we are looking forward to sending this out to as many outlets as we can. Here is the link:

The more exposure we get the more fun this becomes. Thanks to all of our friends for the support so far. It has been a good week so far. And thanks to Jane Wells for featuring us.

Yesterday, while i was busy outrunning several tornados in our area, i managed to go to one of my favorite arms dealers (i love calling them that), Gander Mountain. It was there that i put money down on one of the prettiest handguns on the face of the planet, the Taurus Raging Bull, seen below.

Raging Bull 44 Magnum w/ 8" Barrel

Being a designer, firearms can be one of the best sources for inspiration in modern design. The Bull is well, pretty. Its a nice looking gun to look at, even if it were never fired. But as anyone who has fired a 44 Mag will tell you, they kick like a mule. It might be a looker, but its all business. To me, firing one is just as much fun as looking at it.

Owning this gun (which I don’t yet… still paying for it) is one of the rights that I have in this country. As long as I don’t use it to violate the rights of another, then I am free to have it. But fear-mongering and belief that the government knows better than the people do are what Palin’s opposition believe to be true, and it will never jive with me. Responsible gun ownership is a privilege, and just because owning one is offensive to a liberal doesn’t mean that I am going to hand it over to them to melt down to make a flower box. Owning a gun doesn’t automatically make me a cold-blooded killer, just like eating tofu doesn’t make you a soybean.

I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but there is a bit of a storm moving through the Gulf Coast. Ike seems to be wreaking havoc in Texas as I write this and yet again, people are forced out of their homes and onto the highways.

“Mother Nature is going about its business… sometimes we get in the way.”

That was a quote i heard on the Discovery Channel as I was writing this entry, and its absolutely true. ITs gonna do what its gonna do, and we just need to deal with it. But this is more than just that. Yet again, the gas companies and futures traders have decided to force the market to gouge us and raise prices at the drop of a hat.

This morning, i had heard on the local radio that there was a very good chance that gas prices were going to go up a FULL DOLLAR per gallon by the end of the day because the pipelines were temporarily shut down. My gas light had just come on, so i figured that i needed to go ahead and pull in to get gas. I managed to find it for $3.57 a gallon and was happy with that. I then asked the attendant if the rumors were true and he confirmed it saying that prices were going up a dollar by midnight. Later today, I went to lunch and the station across from work was $3.59. By the time i got back from lunch, it was $3.79. About an hour after that, i went back out to check on it and it was $3.99.

It had shot up 40¢ in about 2 hours! Are you kidding me? It was getting so bad that the governor of Arkansas, Mike Beebe, had to declare a state of emergency and state that gouging would not be tolerated. Well, that didn’t work, but i appreciate the effort Mike. It was better than nothing. On my way home, i noticed that gas had risen yet again to $4.19 a gallon. Thanks a lot.

This is why am a supporter of a change in Washington, particularly McCain Palin. Get out and vote people. I don’t think i can take much more.

Well, this is our first post to this blog, and we hope to post as often as possible. But, being that its pretty late, I will keep this first one short.

Being good republicans and all, we have decided to dive into the wonderful world of capitalism. And, after being inspired by Sarah Palin and her selection as the Republican Vice Presidential Candidate, we have decided to create this sticker and make it publicly available. Some people might instantly think of this as disrespectful, but compared to the idea of a VPILF (look it up), i think we did it the right way. As I mentioned in the About section of the site, Palin had been on my radar for a couple of years and it was astonishing to learn that she was now in position to be Vice President. The Republicans had finally made a really progressive move and we were all for it.

Palin represents a shift in politics that is a welcome one… let the common man (or woman) rule. Although I do agree that McCain has been a part of the “system” for many many years, he has always fought against the establishment for a long time now. Nothing wrong with that.

So as we move past the next couple of months and draw near the election, keep in mind that we, despite all our political differences, are privileged to live in a country that allows us to decide who leads us.

Go Palin.
